Now if we just had an indoor arena in Mississippi. We could be hosting our own meets. Of course, it would have to be used for other events like the Crossplex in Birmingham but it could be done. Yes, it would be expensive but not as much as it cost Birmingham. Ok, you major Universities and the bigger cities like Jackson it is time to move ahead and join other states with indoor multipurpose arenas.
The first two meets on the calendar are age group and club type meets. High School meets resume with the Ice Breaker on the 8th and 9th of January. On the 9th you also have the LSU HS Classic. On January 14th is the Virginia Showcase where many of the elite athletes will be competing. The last High School meets for Mississippi athletes are the Last Chance in Birmingham on January 20th and 30th. In Louisianna, MeNeese State will host the McNeese Indoor II High School meet on the 30th. The last meet on our calendar is an elite meet at the East Coast Invitational in the new Virginia Beach area.
Our outdoor season begins on January 25th with the first official practice. The first meets can start on February 22nd.
