A familiar name sits at the top of the list. Christian Balcer, East Central ran his best time of 15:50.28 last year at George County a course similar in toughness to Choctaw Trails.
Chase Rose, Kirk Academy at number three ran his best time of the year at MAIS State.
This is a great comparison of times as all were run on the same course within a week's time. Yes, weather can interfere like last year with rain or heat for us in Mississippi. It is not very often that we have a "cold" State Cross Country Championship. I know of a number of times in my history at State where it was over 90 degrees with high humidity which probably put the heat index at 100 or higher.
