Dear Track & Field Coaches,
First and foremost, I would like to thank you for the opportunity given me to time your meets this
2020 track and field season.
The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic continues to impact schools, businesses and
communities across Mississippi.
This virus has been devastating on our athletes and coaches in so many ways and its impact has
been life changing. It goes without saying that track and field is not immune from this fallout. We
face challenges unlike any we have ever faced and, honestly, there is no roadmap to handle this
crisis. What I know is we must push forward, and we will do just that.
Hopefully next season will even better than we thought the 2020 season would have been.
Please remember to thank all of our first responders and healthcare workers, grocery store
employees and owners, truckers, those in the supply chain, and others who are keeping our
state moving through this pandemic. Most importantly, this too shall pass. Enjoy the extra
time around your family, and remember to be thankful for the many blessings in your life!
