Okatibbee Practice Meet

This meet was run in the rain and barely got it in due to the weather


Emma Claire James, West Lauderdale won the 2 mile run in 12:31.60 over teammate and #1 ranked 4A girl Emily Snodgrass at 13:29.50. West Lauderdale girls won the meet over Meridian High with a score of 19 to 42. These were the only two full teams competing.  


Zach Carter, Meridian High ran 11:55.70 to beat Rylee Taylor, West Lauderdale at 12:02.29. West Lauderdale won the boy meet 22 to 57 over Meridian High.

George County Trail Run


Brooklyn Biancamano, Long Beach ran 19:03.13 to take over the State lead at 5K. She run the fairly tough course at a tempo pace to get ready for the Mobile Challenge of Champions on Saturday. Saint Patrick girls won the high scoring meet 72 to 77 over Oak Grove. This is an estimated team score not official.


Christian Balcer, East Central started the season off right with a nice 16:39.58 to beat Kevin Cooley, George County, 16:41.27. Both times are really good on this course. Christian is now ranked #3 in the State with Kevin holding down the 4 spot. On a rough count Saint Stanislaus won the boys meet with 71 points. I will update this when the timer updates the results.

Mississippi High Season Opener

Emma Claire James, West Lauderdale led the girls across the line in 20:15.78. She did not win with ease as Shana Sellers, Pearl High was right with her at 20:16.50. Emma Claire took the lead at about 50 yards to go on the tough finish hill at Choctaw Trails. The Pearl girls won 97 to Brookhaven's 108 in the high scoring team race.

It was a showdown of top boys runners with Jacob Britt, Brookhaven, Brock Kelly, Tupelo Christian and Grayson Childress, Brookhaven in the race. Jacob put in a 5:09 second mile to pull away and win in 16:30.33 over Brock in 16:40.51 with Grayson in hot pursuit in 16:40.61. Brookhaven boys won by 32 ponts over the Pearl boys.
Mobile Cross Country Challenge of Champions

Brooklyn Biancamano, Long Beach backed up her win at George County with a nice 18:36.88. Haley Clark. Pass Christian ran 22:08.09 to finish in 28th place.
Kevin Cooley, George County ran 16:44.50 to finish 4th in the Boys Invitational race.
City Auto Memphis Twlight XC Classic
Lauren Entremont, Brandon was the highest finisher from Mississippi at 17th place in 20:26.14.
Walt Johnson, Oxford led the way for Mississippi runner finishing in 14 place with a time of 16:24.31

5 Star City Invitational'
Jessica Cartwright, Hernando ran her second sub 20 in 19:57.00 to win the girls race.
Emerson Mansfield, Satillo ran 18:08 to win the boys race,
Brooks Lion Cross Country Invitational
Molly Johnson, Corinth ran 22:13.26 to finish 10th in the girls Class 5A-7A race. The girls finished 3rd in the team race.
Joel Parker, Corinth ran 17:18.49 to finish 4th in the Class 5A-7A race. The Corinth boys won the team title.
