That said, Pearl now has a 1:56 800m runner, a plethora of sub-4:40 1600m runners, and JaQuavion Bryant. We are unsure on the exact order and lineup for the 4x800m relay, but the Clinton v. Pearl 4x800m relay battle is lining up to be one to watch.

*Lania McDonald of Biloxi put down her fourth sub-59 seconds 400m performance in a row at the Gaston Hewes Relays, showcasing her dominance in that event. The Yelverton sisters from Biloxi also had a strong showing in the 400m, going 1-2 in the event at the West Harrison Invitational.

*Tylertown's Jourdan Clements had a breakout performance at the West Harrison Invitational, securing two wins and three lifetime bests in the 200m, the 110mH, and the 300mH, respectively. This was a breakout performance for the Tylertown junior, and is now ranked fourth in Mississippi in the 110mH, and No. 2 in MHSAA 4A next to fellow Chief Kendrell Robertson

*Ocean Springs had a strong showing in the distance events, with two lady Greyhounds, Addison Rainey and Sarah Litton, running under 12 minutes in the 3200m, and fellow teammate Maya Messenger securing an All-MileSplit Mississippi 1st-Team standard in the 800m.

*While the Biloxi girls trio stole the show in the Pole Vault, we can't ignore the Ocean Springs of Grady Westbrook, Korbin Lewis, and Jordan Szalai all cleared 12 feet, led by Westbrook at 12-6. Westbrook is currently ranked fourth in MHSAA 6A, and the Greyhounds have the potential to place three scorers at the 2023 MHSAA 6A Track and Field Championships in this event.

*Marquise Washington continues to impress in the 100m dash, laying down another impressive performance this week in the event and continued to be one to watch in MHSAA 6A. Currently, Washington is ranked third in MHSAA 6A, and fourth in all of Mississippi.
