Junior High Boys Team Rankings

Tupelo appears near the top of every ranking, and this holds true with their junior high boys.

They have two of the best middle school runners in the state: Andrew Brown and Burton Potts. These two started their seasons with a bang and could move up to varsity by the end of the year.

Potts won his first race of the season at the 2022 TCPS Twilight.

Brown won the 2022 Memphis Twilight Middle School race by almost 20 seconds, obliterating the 2K course record in a performance of 5:50.56 for the 2K distance. Rumour has it that he passed the 1-mile mark in a time of 4:45.

Brookhaven's junior high boys looked very stout at '22 The Opener.

Four of their runners finished in the top 12, which easily got them the win at one of the most competitive middle school meets so far.

Ian Iles, Coleman Knott, and Landon Newman are young runners to keep tabs on for the Middle School State Meet later in the Fall.

A Junior High Boy's team that made a name for themselves this past weekend was Oxford. Achieving a near-perfect score at the 2022 Mooreville XC Invitational, they are a talent-filled team with incredible depth.

The star of this show was Toshan Delong.

Delong, a newcomer to the Oxford team, went wire-to-wire at the 2022 Mooreville XC Invitational with a 3200m time of 10:41.

An incredible mark to start the season, it will be very intriguing to see what he is capable of when the weather gets cooler and the stakes get higher.
