Rebecca Buteau Committed to Alabama Interview

Mississippi Milesplit: Why did you choose the University of Alabama.?

Rebecca: I went to Tuscaloosa last year just to visit and met Coach Tribble. I mentioned that I was interested in going to a Division I large school and going to school out of state. He said that he would love to have me if I was interested. Last Spring when I decided to sit out track because of injuries he supported my decision when other schools seem to lose interest. I love the school and especially the facilities for the athletes. I am really looking forward to being a member of the Cross Country team as a member not the top runner so that I will be pushed to get better.

Mississippi Milesplit: What are your grades and your ACT scores.

Rebecca: I have a 4.0 GPA and currently a 28 on the ACT. I took the ACT again and hope to improve that score.

Mississippi Milesplit: What do you do outside of school?

Rebecca: I am really into the overall fitness thing. I like crossfit and all that. I like hanging out with my friends. Cooking is something I have gotten into as I like to eat right. Trying new recipes and even changing them to make the recipes more healthy.

Mississippi Milesplit: What do you plan to study in school?

Rebecca: I am looking at PreMed. At first I thought biology but then some people mentioned chemistry. I might major in Chemical Engineering then go to Med School.

Mississippi Milesplit: Congratulations and we look forward to your continued process of getting back into CC and Track this year and following you as you continue your career at Alabama.
