Brookhaven High School (Alexander JH) placed three in the top five en route to a dominant victory at the 2022 MHSAA Middle School Classic in the Medium School Boys division. 

Led by Cooper Wallace and the Iles brothers (Isaac Iles and Ian Iles), the Junior Panthers scored 29 points to win the Medium School Boys title, the lowest score of the day. With Coleman Knott and Cohen Leggett rounding out their scoring five, this team mirrors the dominant 2021 Brookhaven squad. Could this group be another superteam in the making?

Medium School Girls

Kayleigh Armstrong of Pontotoc High School ran a monstrous PR of 12:17.0 in the 3K to win the Medium School Girls individual title at the 2022 MHSAA Middle School Classic. Her 3K time converts to a 3200m of 13:11.3, which is a 6:35 mile average and 27 seconds faster than her 3200m PR of 13:38.8. 

In the team battle, it had seemed that South Pontotoc had sealed the deal with a 2-3-4 finish from Anna Newell, Chloe Rice, and Harper Rush. However, the Corinth Lady Junior Warriors had something up their sleeve with a phenomenal 19-second 1-5 split to win the Medium School Girls team title by 42 points, 41-83 over South Pontotoc.
