Mississippi XC All-State Meet 2022

Meet Information

WHEN: Saturday 12th, 2022

WHO: State Champion teams and individuals from MHSAA 6A,5A,4A,3A,2A,1A / MAIS 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A / and the Champions of the Home School Association will be invited. As well as anyboys teamthat successfully averaged under 18:40 at Choctaw Trails or anygirls teamthat are able to average under 21:40.Finally, a berth will be awarded to the team and individual champions of the newly minted "metro leagues" (found at the milesplit rankings tab).Forindividuals, if you were not able to make it on a qualifying team, nor where you able to win an individual state title. The committee will extend offers to those athletes that rank in the top 21 overall times for the season at Choctaw Trails.

WHAT: We want to celebrate the sport of cross country and what better way to do this then to not only make the most competitive meet possible, but to also give out the best SWAG and gear we can! Custom backpacks to ALL the State Champions who register.

WHERE: Choctaw Trails, Clinton, MS (5201 N. McRaven Rd., Jackson, MS). IMPORTANT: There is a bridge down on McRaven Rd that may cause a detour to Choctaw Trails. Maps can be found at 2022 Home meet Info at the Mississippi College website.

ENTRY FEE: $140 per qualifying team / $20 per qualifying individual. BRING TO MEET, Checks made out to Mississippi College. This event will be run like all post season events, you must enter your team as a club team. Also, qualifyingtimes must be run at Choctaw Trails.

ENTRY PROCESS: ONLINE ENTRIES will begin on September 4 th 2022 and will close on November 9 th 2022 at 11:59 p.m. Enter Online at ms.milesplit.com (You may Add, Delete, and Change any time until entries are closed)

SCHEDULE:

10:45 am Girls Championship Race 5,000m (max 7 entries)

11:15 am Boys Championship Race 5,000m (max 7 entries)

11:45 am All Comers Race 1 mile (community run)

12:00 pm AWARDS CEREMONY

AWARDS: Team awards for the champions, the teams in the final four and even the eliteeight. Individual awards for runners 1-7 (1st team all-state) runners 8-14 (2nd team all-state) and finally runners 15-21 (honorable mention all-state).

High School Boys Team: Brookhaven High School - 63 points, 16:37 5k avg

High School Girls Team: Columbia Academy - 81 points, 21:03 5k avg

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Historic Choctaw Trails has been reimagined and redesigned to host the Souths best cross-country experience for everyone including athletes, coaches, and spectators. With ample parking for fans, shaded team tent areas for coaches and athletes, and designated restrooms for both, Choctaw Trails provides everything needed to experience cross country at its finest. The course boasts a starting line big enough to safely accommodate 40 teams and every step will be run on grass. A 30+ foot width at all points, the course affords front-runners, mid-packers, and come-from-behind strategists alike a safe opportunity to compete. Course markings can be found at every kilometer and every mile, and multiple clocks make it easy to track athletes times. The last 800m is sure to inspire as it loops adjacent to the finish line, and two sets of bleachers line the final stretch to help spectators cheer athletes through the finish line. From the improved course to the electric atmosphere, Choctaw Trails delivers the ultimate cross-country experience.
