Hurricane Invitational
Coaches, September 21, 2014
West Harrison High School would like to invite you to the Hurricane Invitational to be held on Saturday, October 25th. The entry fee is $75.00 per school or $50.00 if only one gender is entered.
West Harrison is not able to trade entry fees this year. Our Athletic Director informed me that we will be paying entry fees to every school whose race we attend. Therefore, each school will need to pay entry fees unto us. Please make checks payable to Harrison County Athletic Department. You may bring your checks to the meet or mail them to Harrison County School District, Attention Viletta McCormick, 11072 Highway 49, Gulfport, MS 39503. Make sure you send it to Vilettas attention.
Trophies will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place teams in both the varsity and junior high races. Additionally, individual recognition will be presented to the top 10 runners in the Varsity races and the top 5 runners in the Junior High races. All races will be unlimited.
The majority of the course will follow old dirt roads through the woods. With a Garmin the Varsity races measure 3.1 miles and the Junior High races measure 2.48 miles. We will measure them with a wheel as well.

8:45 am- Coachs Meeting
9:00 am- High School Girls 4K
9:40 am- High School Boys 5K
10:15 am- Junior High Girls 4K
10:45 am- Junior High Boys 4K
11:20 am- Awards Ceremony
I am in the process of setting up online registration and plan for it to open Wednesday, October 1st and remain open until Wednesday, October 22nd. New coaches will need to establish an account at http://www.mstrackxc.com/ and claim their team prior to registration. Race registration can be done at http://ms.milesplit.com/calendar by scrolling down to the date of October 25th and looking for the link to online registration for the West Harrison Hurricane invitational. Registration instructions may be obtained by going to http://ms.milesplit.us/pages/Online_Meet_Reg_Instructions .
Directions: Parking is in back of the school.
From I-10: Take exit 28 (Long Beach exit) and head north on County Farm Road for 1.2 miles. School is on the left.
From the North: Take Hwy 53 to County Farm Road (County Farm Road is 4.1 miles from Hwy 49). Go south on County Farm Road toward Long Beach for 6 miles. School is on the right. Use the south entrance.
