Long Beach High School will be hosting the MHSAA 2014 Track & Field Championship Meet on Saturday; 05/03/2014. Our track & field complex is located adjacent to Long Beach High School / 300 E. Old Pass Road / Long Beach, MS 39560. Make your travel plans to arrive at the meet site by 9:00a.m. Busses should park in the parking lot on located across from the north-east side of the track & field complex. We will begin the meet with a coaches meeting at 9:30a.m. If your athletes qualified in throwing events > their implements must be weighed-in at the meet headquarters prior to 10:30a.m. The meet headquarters will be located on the north-east end of the infield. Team areas may be set-up in the home-side stadium stands (west side of the stadium) You will be allowed to set-up team tents in the west side home;stands. The east side stands are for spectators only. Competition will begin with the 3200 meters runs beginning at 10:00a.m. We will begin the field events at 11:00a.m. We will not begin any other running events until the completion of the field events. The MHSAA sports information manual states that schools that qualify at least four athletes for the South State Meet will be asked to send one coach to help with the running-off of the meet. 9:30p.m. Coaches Meeting: hand-out relay confirmation sheets / pole vault verification sheets / review meet program / hand-out lane assignments & field event seedings / review location of field events & clerk-of-course / select jury of appeals (3 coaches from 4A for 5A protests -&- 3 coaches from 5A for 4A protests)
Weigh-in implements @ meet headquarters weigh-in (closes at 10:30p.m.)
Girls shot - 4kg / Boys shot - 12 lbs / Girls discus - 1kg / Boys discus - 1.6 kg
Pay entry fees (immediately after coaches meeting)
Entry fee is $7.00 per athlete on your south state track & field rosters

10:00a.m. 4A Girls 3200 meter run followed by 5A Girls 3200 meter run followed by 4A Boys 3200 meter run followed by 5A Boys 3200 meter run
All other running events will not begin until conclusion of the field events
All races are 4A Girls followed by 5A Girls / 4A Boys followed by 5A Boys (1 heat each)
Report to clerk-of-course located on the north-west side of the infield on 1st call for running events
Athletes will be allowed to warm-up for their running events on the west-side of the mid-field ropes
