Mississippi Boys Cross Country Performer of the Week (Aug. 24-30)

After another week of cross country racing in Mississippi, it's time to vote for the MileSplit Mississippi boys cross country performer of the week.

This Week's Nominees:

David Lee, Madison Central High School (Mississippi): A 6.5-second margin sealed the win at the Southern Heatwave XC Classic, crossing the line in 16:05.10 for the 5K among 134 finishers. The clocking sits third among 984 athletes in MileSplit's database at City of Brandon Cross Country Trail since 2022, and it improved a prior mark on this course by 79.8 seconds.

Ryan Thompson, West Lauderdale High School (Mississippi): Covered the 5K in 18:37.10 to win the East Mississippi Classic XC Meet by 15 seconds over a field of 89 finishers. The time ranks 31st among 735 athletes in MileSplit's database at Okatibbee Peak To Peak since 2019.

Autry Foster, Lewisburg High School (Mississippi): A sophomore made her mark at the NMPHC Cross Country Classic, crossing first among 267 finishers in 16:11.42 for the 5K. The margin told the story of the day, as she came home 19.2 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher to close out the race in complete control.

Perry Hearst, Germantown High School (Mississippi): Finished second among 134 runners at the Southern Heatwave XC Classic, covering the 5K in 16:11.60. That clocking ranks fourth among 985 athletes in MileSplit's database at City of Brandon Cross Country Trail since 2022.

Eli Seaton, Pascagoula High School (Mississippi): Won the Port City Classic 5K in 15:58.31, finishing 10.9 seconds ahead of the field of 10. The time is the fastest recorded in MileSplit's database at Jones Beach since 2020, among 333 athletes on the course.
