This Week's Nominees:
Lacy Alex, Choctaw Central High School (Mississippi): A 21:38.70 clocking over 5K was good for the win at the East Mississippi Classic XC Meet, holding off a field of 67 finishers by 44.1 seconds. The time ranks No. 14 of 532 athletes in MileSplit's database at Okatibbee Peak To Peak since 2019.
Kate Miller, Hartfield Academy (Mississippi): Covering 5K in 19:29.60, she crossed second among 120 finishers at the Southern Heatwave XC Classic (Pearl). That mark places her No. 8 of 713 athletes in MileSplit's database at City of Brandon Cross Country Trail since 2022.
Ally Murphy, Myrtle Attendance Center (Mississippi): She broke away from a 102-runner field at the NMPHC Cross Country Classic, winning the 5K in 19:29.96 with 16.1 seconds to spare at the line.
Addie Shepherd, Caledonia High School (Mississippi): In a field of 153 at the NMPHC Cross Country Classic, she took the top spot, finishing 1st over 5K in 19:52.25 and edging the runner-up by 7.6 seconds.
Zayna Hudson, Choctaw Central High School (Mississippi): A 5K time of 22:22.80 placed second among 67 finishers at the East Mississippi Classic XC Meet. The performance was 82.4 seconds faster than her prior mark on this course, and it ranks No. 27 of 531 athletes in MileSplit's database at Okatibbee Peak To Peak since 2019.
