This Week's Nominees:
Lilly Overby, Simpson Academy (Mississippi): Swept her events at the Canton Academy Sterling Penn Invite, clocking a state-leading 4:57.50 in the 1600 and breaking her PR from 5:01.35 set last April. She also won the 400 in a new PR of 58.35, improving from 59.46.
Amiya Hall, Vicksburg High School (Mississippi): The #2 junior in the state turned in the week's fastest 100 at 12.10, winning at the Barbara Brown Invitational ahead of a 29-runner field. She also took the 200 in 25.42, where she ranks as the #2 junior statewide.
Khamrin Harper, Clinton High School (Mississippi): Posted the week's fastest 200 time at 24.87, finishing second at the Dragon Invitational in a competitive 27-runner field. She also placed third in the 100 at 12.74.
Jordyn Moody, Oak Grove High School (Mississippi): Delivered one of the top all-around sprint performances of the week, winning the 400 in a state-leading 56.86 and adding a 25.15 victory in the 200 at the Fast in the Friendly City Classic.
Taniya Turner, Starkville High School (Mississippi): Ran the fastest 100 time in the state this week with a 12.13 (+3.8) to win the Oxford Invitational, establishing herself as one of the top sprinters in Mississippi early in the season
