In this week's Milesplit Mississippi Senior Sendoff, we turn our attention to Jack Gibson, a talented Pole Vault specialist from Corinth High School. Gibson is set to embark on his academic and athletic journey at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi.

Throughout his remarkable 2023 Track and Field campaign, Gibson showcased his exceptional skills in the Pole Vault. Winning six out of eight competitions and consistently finishing in the top three, he proved to be a formidable athlete in his discipline. His impressive performance continued into the post-season, where he remained undefeated and ultimately secured the MHSAA 4A title in the Pole Vault, a remarkable achievement following his second-place finish last year.

At Millsaps College, Gibson will pursue a major in Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering is a field that focuses on the design, analysis, and manufacturing of mechanical systems, including machinery, engines, and energy systems. This major equips students with a strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and engineering principles, preparing them for a variety of career paths. Graduates often find opportunities in industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, robotics, and more.

With a current lifetime best of 13-1 in the Pole Vault, Gibson's skills and determination are sure to propel him to new heights at Millsaps College. As he embarks on his collegiate journey, we expect him to further hone his abilities and achieve even greater success with the Majors.

Congratulations to Jack Gibson on his outstanding high school career, and best of luck as he pursues his studies in Mechanical Engineering while representing Millsaps College in Pole Vault.

The future looks bright for this talented athlete, and we eagerly await his continued achievements on and off the field.
