*Pearl's Connor Mozee competed in not one, but two meets this past week, gaining a huge PR at the Fleet Feet Track Classic with a mark of 171-0. He then took the trip down to Mobile where he placed sixth overall.

*Carlando Crump had a solid weekend at the Panola, Lafayette, Tate County Challenge, as he pulled off a 100m/200m/400m/LJ quadruple, winning all four events.

*Hernando's Kaitlyn Burge, the state leader in the 1600m won the 400m and 800m at the 17th Annual JJ Downs/Mustangs Relays. Burge won the 400m in a lifetime best of 1:01.95, and the 800m in 2:28.2. 

*Jackson Prep's Olivia Smith took home a double-win on her home track at the Jackson Prep Invitational, taking the 800m and 1600m in 2:27 and 5:29, respectively, over MSAIS studs Riz McBride(2:28 800m), Layla Warren(5:30 1600m), and Mae Ellen Mallet(5:35 1600m). 

*Sidney Stegall, the state leader in the 3200m, raced in the 1600m against some of Florida's best at the Florida Relays, finishing 10th and improving his season best to a time of 4:18.2, now No. 2 in Mississippi. 


*Ella Rankin, the two-time MSAIS 6A Cross Country Champion, added her fifth and sixth win at the Jackson Prep Invitational, remaining undefeated. 

*One of the top MSAIS performances came from MRA's Harrison Alexander, who had the top high jump of the week, jumping 6'8" and moving himself up to second in the state and tied for No. 24 in the country

*Southern Miss signee Valencia Watson eclipsed 10 wins on her 2023 Track and Field resume, winning the 100m and 200m in 12.26 and 24.77, respectively, at the Maverick Meet 2

*The top performing hurdler of the week goes to Javarius Molden of Hattiesburg. At the Powerade Relays, he won both the 110 and 300 hurdles in dominant fashion and had the best time of the week in both events. Molden's 110 time of 14.71 was a season best.

*Connor Mozee, the reigning MHSAA 6A Discus Champion, unleashed a bomb of 171 feet in his specialty event at the Fleet Feet Track Classic. The Pearl senior is now ranked No. 1 in MHSAA 6A and No. 2 in Mississippi. 

*McComb's Sariah Magee, a two-time MHSAA 4A medalist, recorded a massive lifetime best of 24.90 seconds in the 200m dash at the Bulldog Relay Showcase

*At the Jackson Prep Invitational, William Fugate soloed lifetime bests of 4:40 in the 1600m and 9:57 in the 3200m. 

*Brandon's Addison McLaurin stayed undefeated in the 200m, winning the 200m at the Fleet Feet Track Classic in 24.97 seconds. 

*Jeb Hamilton of the Tupelo Spartans relowered his Homeschool 1600m record to 4:38 at the Forerunner Open. 

*Lania McDonald, the current state leader in the 400m, won the open section at the Mobile Challenge of Champions in 58.61, and has yet to lose to a Mississippi prep in her specialty event at this point of the season. 


*Lenasia Drummond, an eight-time MHSAA 5A Champion, pulled off the 100mH/300mH/Triple Jump triple, winning all three on her home turf at the Powerade Relays

*Recent Western Carolina commit Heidi Hudson achieved a lifetime best in the 100mH at the Mobile Challenge of Champions, running 14.99 seconds to finish third overall. The Sumrall superstar also won the High Jump and placed third in the Long Jump. 

*Chrisiyona Quarles of Brookhaven continued her dominance in the 300mH, taking the Brookhaven Invitational in 45.24 seconds, which sucessfully stood as the fastest time of the week in that distance. 

*Shaneal Corpuz won the week in the High School Girls Discus, placing fifth at the Florida Relays in a lifetime best of 133-7.5, now ranking third in Mississippi. Corpuz also added a fifth place finish in the Shot Put. 

*At the Powerade Relays, William Carey distance signee Gavin Wheat ran a lifetime best in the 1600m of 4:26, now ranked No. 3 in MHSAA 6A and No. 4 in Mississippi in the event. 

*Biloxi Pole Vault duo Julie Segroves and Addison Deeks had the two highest marks of the week in that event, vaulting 12-5.5 and 11-5.75, respectively.
