MileSplit Mississippi HSB 1st-Team Performances, Week No. 5

It's been another exciting week in Mississippi high school track and field, with outstanding performances across the board. From Pearl dominating the distance events to Ocean Springs making its mark in pole vault, Mississippi athletes are leaving it all on the track and in the field.

At the top of the list, Pearl High School had an impressive showing, with six All-MileSplit Mississippi 1st-team marks in the distance events. Tanner Moore, JaQuavion Bryant, and Farren Oberto led the way with outstanding performances that put them in the top spots for their respective events. Pearl High School continues to be a powerhouse in Mississippi high school track and field, and these athletes prove why.

Ocean Springs also had a strong showing in the pole vault, with three athletes clearing the All-MileSplit Mississippi 1st team standard. Grady Westbrook led the way with an impressive performance that showed why he's a top contender in this event. 

Marquise Washington continues to impress in the 100m dash, laying down another impressive performance this week in the event and continued to be one to watch in MHSAA 6A.

Jourdan Clements of Tylertown had a breakout performance at the West Harrison Invitational, showing that he's a force to be reckoned with. With his strong performance, he's sure to make a name for himself in the coming weeks.

In unofficial results, rumors abound about some outstanding performances at the Crossroads Invitational, hosted by Corinth High. JaBrysten Abram achieved his second sub-39 300-meter hurdle performance, showing why he's one of the top hurdlers in the state. Gabe McElwain also had an impressive double, pulling off a 4:35/9:42 1600m/3200m performance. Carlando Crump showed his speed and versatility by winning both the 200-meter dash and the 400m, with impressive times of 22.31 seconds and 50.91 seconds, respectively.

Overall, it's been another exciting week in Mississippi high school track and field, with impressive performances from some of the state's top athletes. These athletes continue to push themselves to be the best, and their hard work and dedication is paying off in a big way. As the season progresses, we can expect to see even more impressive performances from these talented athletes.
