MileSplit Miss. HSG T&F 1st-Team Standards: Week No. 1

As the 2023 Mississippi High School Track and Field season gets underway, MileSplit Mississippi is excited to unveil its first set of First-Team Standards. These standards represent the elite level of performance in each event, and are based on the performances of athletes over the previous seven days.

To make the MileSplit Mississippi High School Girls Track and Field 1st-Team, athletes must meet or exceed the following standards in their respective events:

• 100m Dash: 12.65
• 200m Dash: 26.50 
• 400m Dash: 1:01.50 
• 800m Run: 2:32.50
• 1600m Run: 5:31.00
• 3200m Run: 12:18.00
• 110m Hurdles: 16.75
• 300m Hurdles: 49.50 
• Long Jump: 16-9
• Triple Jump: 35-6
• High Jump: 5-0
• Shot Put: 33-0
• Discus: 102-0
• Pole Vault: 9-0

Over the past seven days, several talented athletes have already hit the First-Team standard in multiple events, including Clinton's Tacherria Lawson, Nakirsten Hughes and Zharia Bonner, and Brandon's Addison McLaurin in the 100m and 200m, Biloxi's Addison Yelverton in the 200m and 400m, Tupelo's Brookelyn Morgan and Pearl's Katherine Neal in the 1600m and 3200m, Hernando's Kaitlyn Burge in the 800m and 1600m, Clinton's Kaitlyn Jones in the 100mH and 300mH, and Clinton's Meagan Womack in the Shot Put and Discus. 

As the season continues, MileSplit Mississippi will update its First-Team Standards based on the performances of the top athletes in each event.
