To no one's surprise, far and away the best team in Mississippi going into the 2022 cross country season, from the Gulf Coast, Ocean Springs High School.
Ocean Springs, who finished the 2021 season as the No. 1 ranked team in Mississippi, is returning their entire top seven from last year.
Just in case anyone needs any reminders, this is the same squad that placed six of their girls inside of the top 10 at the 2021 MHSAA 6A Cross Country Championships, winning the team title in perhaps one of the most dominant state meet performances in Mississippi high school history.
