The Rundown: 

The No. 2 ranked High School Boys cross country team in the state heading into the season is a team that is near the top nearly every year, and that is Saltillo High School!

Saltillo is the huge favorite to take the 2022 MHSAA 5A team title after finishing second to Brookhaven High School in 2021, but still finished as the No. 4 ranked team in the state overall. 

They have a phenomenal split of 36 seconds with rising junior Mohammad Zaqief leading the way with a 16:42 third place finish in the silver division at the 2021 Watson High School Meet.
