Watson XC HS Preview: Junior High Division

Junior High Boys

Andrew Brown - Tupelo Middle School

Setting the tone for the JV Boys race this weekend is name we know well, and that is Andrew Brown of Tupelo. Through 6 straight racesBrown has still yet to lose a race this year, and really hasn't even come close to losing one. The closest compeitor to him at the finish line this season is 32 seconds - And he was a sophomore in high school. He will, however, actually have some very decent competition pushing him this weekend...

Tristan Davis - Saint Patrick High School

The North and South part of the state will collide as the Tristan Davis will meet his equal in Andrew Brown this weekend at Watson. Davis is the real deal folks. Like Brown, Davis has yet to drop a race this season. Davis has been dropping some serious times on the JV circuit, such as 10:57 for the full 2 miles, as well as 14:15 for 4000 meters. This matchup between Davis and Brown is setting up to be one of the best matchups heading into this weekend, and one that I absolutely can't wait to watch.

For the first time this season, either Davis or Brown will take a loss... Expect that 3k state record of 10:15 to go down as well.

Joseph Ross - Saint Patrick High School

Really the only runner to be pushing Davis this year is his teammate, #3 ranked JV runner Joseph Ross. Ross has also been putting on a show this year with his 11:20 for 2 miles as well as 14:16 for 4000 meters, placing 2nd to Davis through 4 races this year. Expect Ross and Davis to be working together like they have been all season to snag that 3k state record and take down Andrew Brown in this very highly contested JV race this weekend!
