Coaches of the Year: 2020-2021 Academic School Year

CROSS COUNTRY

Boys: Luke Hatcher - Corinth High School

Girls: Debbie Parker - Corinth High School

The Corinth High School Boys and Girls team won the MHSAA 4A State Title in cross country. Coach Hatcher and Coach Parker have changed the program big time, and it has been humbling to watch the culture they have built at Corinth HS. I truly can't wait to see what this team does this year in cross country.

TRACK

Boys: Chris Barnette - Pearl High School

Pearl always has and always will have a strong track/cross country team, thanks to the legacy that the Barnette family has built. Thanks to that legacy, Pearl HS adds another state title this year to the trophy case. With a strong work ethic and showing up on the right day year in and year out, this team will surely be one of the best teams in cross country this year, as well as track and field next year.

Girls: Jonathan Perkins - Clinton High School

The girls' track and field program this past year at Clinton HSis one of the strongest teams I have ever seen, and probably will see for a long time. From hurdles, distance, sprints, and a dominating throws squad, this team had it at all and showed it with their MHSAA 6A State Title Win, their 7th straight title win. Coach Perkins continues to show that he has the skill set necessary to produce a dominant track and field girls' team every year that he has been there.
