MHSAA Class 5A girls have some of the top athletes to ever compete in Mississippi high school track and field. Bianca Knight, Ridgeland High holds two of the Class 5A individual records along with Brooklyn Biancamano, Long Beach who also holds two. Bianca Knight havers represented the USA a number of times. Bianca might be overlooked except for some of us "older" coaches. These two represent the new and the old of Class 5A..
Christy Fairley, and Octavia Carter from George County were almost a track team by themselves but add a couple of more good athletes and they were unstoppable. George County dominated the competition at State when these two were competing. Now days it would be harder to do as they would be limited only four events each.
