Johnnie McDonald, Madison Central is tied for 6th place in the nation in the 100 meter dash wind legal. He is tied for number 1 in Mississippi with Brandon Hayes, Oak Grove but Brandon's time did not have a wind reading. I hope to see him beat this time several times this season.
Wind gauges are important in automatic timed meets as it used to determine if the straightaway races are legal. Only the 100 meters, 200 meters and the 100/110 hurdles are under this rule. The wind cannot be higher than 2 meters per second for a record to be legal. The rule also applies to the long jump and triple jump.
