Below is the start of the year roster for the Long Beach girls XC team. It is easy to see that Brooklyn Biancamano should easily lead this team. But can the team be great and move to number one in Class 5A? It can be done but four runners will need to step up and train at the next level for it to happen. Saltillo has a team average of 21:57 for 5K to start the season. You look at that and say well that is only nine seconds but that is a per person average so you have to look at the total time. Saltillo based on last years best times has a 1:43:17.80 total time while Long Beach is at 1:50:38.65 and that is a whopping 7 minutes. For Long Beach to move up Ashling Osness, Kylah Cuevas, Kathryn Osness and Julia Geertsema will have to step up to their potential to give Saltillo a race. Good Luck this year Long Beach.
