Blog: The Pinter Sisters Pearl High School

Our Pirate Life

I’m Caitlin Pinter and am a senior captain at Pearl.  For me, running is more than a sport; it’s made me who I am today.  When you are running, you are doing something not many people can do.  It’s just you, the miles, and how far you are willing to push yourself to get what you want.  I have discovered myself through running.  I never knew how strong I was until I stepped onto a track and I am forever grateful for the coaches and my family of teammates for guiding my way.  I would like to share a bible verse that guides me on hard days - “Run with perseverance the race marked out for us (Hebrews 12:1).”  Good luck this weekend and run with perseverance!

Hello!  My name is Clare Pinter and I’m an eighth grader at Pearl Junior High.  I run for Pearl High School’s varsity and track teams, with my sisters Caitlin and Hannah (my identical twin).  Running is the only sport I do and I would not have it any other way.  I love running and it has made me a stronger person.  I feel so blessed to have such wonderful track and cross country coaches at Pearl.  I would like to share with y’all my favorite quote, “The only good race pace is a suicide pace, and today looks like a good day to die,” from Steve Prefontaine.  My current race jam is Thunderstruck by ACDC.

Hi!  I’m Hannah Pinter.  I’m also an eighth grade at Pearl Junior High also.  I run varsity track and cross country with the Lady Pirates (including my sisters).  Running to me is more than just the times and medals, it’s about the people you meet, the place you go, and the amazing bonds that we develop with other athletes.  We may be on separate teams and even rivals, but we still feel the same pains, joys, and overwhelming passion for the sport!  My favorite running quote is “The freedom of running, the pleasure in physical movement and control, the sense of being fully alive, the excitement of competition and satisfaction of achievement, the challenge for future and the exact measurement of the present, the inspiration from fellow athletes, these are the sources of enthusiasm” from Peter Lovesy’s The Kings of Distance

From now on, we will be doing weekly blog posts about our week, our team, and our family.  We would like to wish everyone good luck this weekend!
