This is a great move to increase Track and Field in Mississippi. By having a championship with schools along the Coast it allows the Middle School Athletes an increased chance to compete and improve before moving to the High School teams. This will greatly increase the interests of the athletes and their parents which will carry over to the high school level of competition.
I hope to see a move to have a Middle School State Championship even if it is outside of MHSAA. Not all athletes are ready for High School Competition but if they stay with it they may delvelope into better athletes. Again Great Job Coast Schools.
