Meet Information
This meet is being hosted by the Hattiesburg Forerunners and is open to all MSAHA, MAIS, and MSHAA teams. The registration fee is $100 per team (boys and girls are separate teams). The maximum fee per school or group is $200. Individual runners attached to an MSHAA, MAIS, or MSAHA school will be $20 per athlete. Timing will be FAT.
Teams are allowed to register 3 participants in each event in the High School and Jr High divisions. Elementary will be allowed 6 participants since it's a mixed gender division. Additional runners will be allowed to run as taped runners in non-lane events.
There will be divisions for High School (9th-12th), Jr High (6th-8th) and limited Elementary. The meet will start at 10:00 AM and the coaches meeting will be held at 9:30 AM.
A $5 gate fee will be charged for spectators. There will also be a concession stand available throughout the meet.
All buses & spectators will park at Tatum Park behind the visitor bleachers.
If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the meet director Paige Waller at 928-713-3031 or paigemwaller@gmail.com
The schedule of events will be the same as other MSAHA meets which I will add below and add to the MileSplit meet page.
We will have a coaches meeting at 9:30 and the first round of field events will start at 10am.
We are asking each team to designate 2 volunteers to assist with conducting the field events. If you have a preference which events your volunteers would like to help with, please send me a text or email. This is crucial to the success of the meet.
We will have a fully stocked concession stand available all day.
Please be sure to have your entries finished before the deadline of 3/20 at 8pm.
Finally, We are making a change to our Shot Put and Discus measuring that applies to High School only. Measurements for throws will now only be taken for those that exceed a certain distance. The distances are as follows:
HS Boys Discus: 50'
HS Girls Discus: 40'
HS Boys Shot: 20'
HS Girls Shot: 15'
There will be a visible marker to indicate those distances and if the disc or shot does not land beyond it, we will simply call "no measure". This change is to enable us to run these events more efficiently and stay on time, as well as enable there to be a finals round in these events. Procedure for a finals round:After 3 throws, the top 6 throws are allowed 3 more throws. The greatest distance from all 6 attempts is used to place.
