13th Annual Bearcat Track and Field Classic
*** COVID19 UPDATE: THIS MEET AS BEEN POSTPONED. THE SCHOOLS AND ALL ACTIVITIES OF LONG BEACH SCHOOL DISTRICT ARE CLOSED UNTIL AT LEAST MARCH 23, 2020. IF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT REOPENS AND ACTIVITIES OF THIS SIZE ARE ALLOWED TO RESUME PRIOR TO THE START OF THE TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON WE WILL ATTEMPT TO RESCHEDULE THIS MEET.
The 13th Annual Bearcat Track and Field Classic is scheduled for Thursday; 03/19/2020 at The Bearcat Track & Field Complex located at Lumpkin - Magee Stadium Long Beach High School / 300 East Old Pass Road Long Beach, MS 39560.
Coaches meeting will start 3:45 p.m at the Clerk of Course.
Girls 3200 meter relay around 4:00 p.m boys 3200 meter relay will follow. All Field events begin at 4:00 p.m.
3200 meter run, girls then boys, will follow the completion of the 3200 meter relays.
All other running events will not begin until the approximate conclusion of the field events.
Entry fee: $75 per team entry fee for the meet. $150 for both a boys team and a girls team. Checks should be made payable to Long Beach Athletics. Entry fees should be brought to the meet and turned in at the Clerk of Course. Each team will be required to weigh-in their throwing implements and certify their pole vault poles
.
Team champion & team runner-up trophies will be given in both the boys and girls divisions.
No entries will be accepted after the deadline. (3 entrants per school per individual event will be allowed). Substitutions will be allowed until 4:00 p.m. and will be made through the Clerk of Course who will coordinate with the timer.
You should enter 3 entrants names and their projected time/distance/height in each individual event on the web-site.
You may only enter one girls relay team & only one boys relay team per relay event on the web-site with their projected time.
Points will be awarded during the meet as follows: 1st-10pts./2nd-8pts./3rd-6pts./4th-5pts./5th-4pts./6th-3pts./7th-2pts./8th-1pt. FinishLynx Timing System and Meet Manager will be used in determining finish line results and scoring of the meet.
Meet results will be posted on-line following the conclusion of the meet on the milesplit web-site.
Make sure that your athletes use spikes no larger than 1/4th" Warm-up for events will be allowed inside the ropes on the infield. Track athletes must report to the Clerk of Course on the 1st call for their individual running events or relays. Field event athletes must report to their field event area on the 1st call for those events. Three attempts will be allowed in all field events.
All participating teams will be expected to provide field event workers for one field event. Schools must bring enough workers to take care of all the duties involved in the field event that is assigned to your school. A list of meet worker assignments for each team will be provided at the coaches meeting on the day of the meet.
