Meet Information
I would like to invite your cross-country teams to participate in the George County Work Meet on Monday, November 29, 2018. The site of this meet will be George County High School, 9284 Old 63 S., Lucedale, MS 39452. There is NO ENTRY FEE.
Both the varsity girls & varsity boys races will be 5,000 meters. Please limit the number of runners to those who will be competing in state. Race courses surfaces will be 99% grass and trail with a 20' crossover on asphalt. The course is the same as the one used at regionals this year.
The meet is now posted for registration on the milesplit web-site calendar. You must register your school as a participating team on-line @ milesplit as well as enter your athletes in their respective races. This is simply to keep track of how many teams are coming and any pre-race communication.
There will OVERALL CHAMPION TROPHIES BUT NO BIBS OR TIMING for this race. Coaches are responsible for timing their own runners. The course will be marked will flags, but not the full race setup at regionals.

3:30 p.m. 5,000 meter race courses open for warm-ups
3:50 Clear the course. We are asking coaches and spectators to refrain from entering the trail portion of the race once the race has started, as many runners were impeded by the number of people on the course last Saturday. Please use the viewing areas to cheer your runners on.
4:00 p.m. Girls Varsity 5,000 m. race
4:40 p.m. Boys Varsity 5,000 m. race
Directions to site of meet:
From Interstate 10
Take exit 69, Highway 63 north toward Lucedale. At the Chevron station (approximately 28 miles), turn right onto Old 63, and George County High School will be on the right. Please enter via the north entrance (by the school sign) and park in front of the stadium.
From Hwy. 98
Take the Lucedale/Moss Point exit and go south on Highway 63. At the Chevron station (approximately 9 miles), turn left onto Old 63, continue and George County High School will be on the right. Please enter via the north entrance (by the school sign) and park in front of the stadium.
