Meet Information

To all Track Coaches Division 5-4A 4/05/12

Our division meet will be held Monday April 16th and Thursday April 19th at Hattiesburg High School. Monday will consist of trials in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 100/110m hurdles and 300m hurdles as required. All teams need to be at Hattieburg High ready to start field events at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Start times are going to be with the Division that is competing there. All field events will be contested on Monday. If you have an athlete that is a high jumper and either a long jumper/triple jumper they must check in with the High Jump to start as we will not lower the bar back down after it has been raised a height. They must also complete at least 1 of the first three jumps in the LJ or TJ to advance to finals that day. Finals on Monday will be all field events and the 3200 meter run.

Each School will be required to supply individuals to run off field events on Monday. Assigned events with minimum needed personnel are:

NE Jones Boys Long Jump/Triple Jump 3 People (rake, marker, head judge)
Quitman Boys and Girls Discus (throw back, marker, head judge)
Laurel Girls Long Jump/Triple Jump (rake, marker, head judge)
West Lauderdale Boys and Girls High Jump (head judge and bar replacer)
NE Lauderdale Boys and Girls Pole Vault (head judge and bar replacer)
Newton County Boys and Girls Shot Put (throw back, marker, head judge)

Registration will be on Coach O and will be open from Friday April 5th until Friday April13th at Midnight. All changes after that will be made at the meet. Any changes other than injuries or no shows will be made at the cost of $10.00 per change. Cost for the meet is going to be $5.00 per athlete. Make checks payable to Northeast Lauderdale High School and bring the check with you April 19th. Medals will be awarded 1-4th place. 1st place Trophy in boys and girls.

Coaches Information Sheet

Each team may enter two participants in each individual event and one team in each relay.

Athletes may participate in a maximum of four (4) events including relays!!!
Scoring: 6A will use a 4 team scoring format; 4A will use a 6 team scoring format
The No False Start Rule will be in effect.
All running events will be finals.
An automatic timing device will be used in all races. Athletes may be recalled at the start if the timing device does not start!!!
Top 4 Finishers will move on to Regional Meet!!

There will be an area on the infield where athletes will be allowed to warm-up. On the first call athletes are to report to the Clerk of the Course. Athletes that do not report will be scratched. On the second call athletes will be released to report to the starting line or exchange zone areas. On the third call athletes are to move on to their assigned positions/lanes on the track.

All field events are contested inside the fenced area of Meridian High School Track with the exception of the shot put and discus. Shot put and discus will contested down on the football practice field. MEET MANAGEMENT WILL DESIGNATE A COACHES AREA LOCATED NEAR THE FINISH LINE. COACHES WISHING TO STAY ON THE FIELD MUST STAY IN THIS DESIGNATED AREA! NO ATHLETES ARE ALLOWED IN THIS AREA! ATHLETES SHOULD REMAIN IN THE WARM-UP AREA OR RISK THEIR SCHOOLS DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE MEET!

After completing a race, athletes are to remain in their lanes and walk back to the finish line.

Spikes: 1/8 ONLY! High jump shoe rear spikes for jumping foot only may have a maximum length of .

Starting Blocks will be provided! Schools will be allowed to use their own blocks!

The stands on the press box side are designated for athletes and coaches. The stands opposite the press box are for spectators only! Teams with tents are asked to sit up at the top of the stands.

MARKING MATERIALS OF ANY KIND (TAPE, CHALK, ETC.) ARE NOT TO BE USED OR PLACED ON THE TRACK, RUNWAYS, OR HIGH JUMP APRON! MARKERS FOR STEPS AND RELAY EXCHANGES WILL BE FURNISHED!
