TUPELO, Miss. - Olympian pole vaulter and two-time world champion and bronze medalist, Sam Kendricks, will make a special appearance at the Tupelo High School Blu Ace Entertainment Field Events Extravaganza on April 4.
Kendricks, who recently claimed the silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics and a bronze medal at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympics, will jump with his fellow professional coaches from the Refuge Training Center. This exhibition event marks his first pole vault appearance in Tupelo since the Daily Journal Relays in 2011, where he jumped 16 feet, .05 inches to set the then-venue record.
Kendricks, a native of Oxford, will begin the exhibition at 4 p.m. This event is part of the Blu Ace Entertainment Field Events Extravaganza, a meet that spotlights the sport's field events, including discus, shot put, long jump, pole vault and many others.
"Excellence of field events is a true reflection of coaching and passion for athletics. I hope you will come join us," Kendricks said.

Kendricks, alongside the Refuge Training Center professional coaches, will demonstrate the incredible skills that earned him international recognition and Olympic medals.
