Bennett Ferguson Assumes Role as MileSplit MS State Editor

MileSplit Mississippi proudly announces the appointment of Bennett Ferguson as the new State Editor. A freshman at Mississippi State University, Bennett brings a wealth of experience and passion to the role, having been a standout distance runner at Oak Grove High School.

Bennett Ferguson, a 2 x MHSAA 6A Track and Field qualifier and 1600m bronze medalist in 2022, has an impressive track record of victories at prestigious meets, including The Opener, the Carey High School Invitational, and MHSAA 6A South State Championships. His dedication to the sport and advocacy for its growth in Mississippi make him the perfect candidate to continue the positive momentum on the MileSplit Mississippi platform.

In a statement, Bennett expressed his excitement for the opportunity: "I am thrilled to accept this opportunity and to have a chance to work with Mississippi's best athletes and coaches. Cross-country and track have been monumental parts of my life and I would not be the person I am today without it. The fact that I get to continue to pursue my passion for the sport and share it with the rest of the state is a dream come true. Chris Webber has done an astounding job in guiding Milesplit Mississippi to where it is today, and I cannot wait to continue his legacy. His love for the sport and Mississippi's athletes is like no other and he has left a massive mark on this community."

Bennett Ferguson's appointment marks a new chapter for MileSplit Mississippi, and the platform looks forward to his leadership in advancing coverage and support for the track and field community across the state.
