Sterling Scott breaks Mississippi HS Boys Indoor TJ record

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- Starkville High School's Sterling Scott made history at the 2023 Ice Breaker, breaking the Mississippi High School Boys Indoor Triple Jump record with a leap of 46-9.75. This impressive feat saw Scott surpass Madison Central 2013 grad Barclay Angle's previous record by a mere 6.25 inches.

Scott, the 2022 MHSAA 6A Champion in the Long Jump and Triple Jump and the 2022 Adidas Outdoor Nationals Champion in the Triple Jump, has consistently proven himself to be a top athlete in the state. He has an outdoor personal record of 49-4.25 and garnered 22 wins during the 2022 outdoor track and field season, never placing outside of the top two.

Scott's impressive track record makes it clear that he is a force to be reckoned with on the track. He has signed to compete in Track and Field for the University of Missouri in the Fall of 2023, and it is clear that he has a bright future ahead of him in the sport.
