It was a similar story on the girls side. Corinth took home the win in comfortable fashion.

The sophomore Elsie Wilbanks took the runner-up spot to start the scoring. She was followed by her fellow sophomore Andi Kate Holley who finished in front of the Emma Hall.

Sheridan Shipp finished fourth for Corinth and aided them to a team score of 41 points ahead of Mooreville's 83. Much like the guy's team, the girl's squad had dominated MHSAA 4A in recent years.

Dating back to 2018, they have won every single MHSAA 4A Cross Country title, and this year was no exception. They have cemented themselves as a force to be reckoned at the state meet.

Hannah Sanders of Mooreville dominated the individual battle. A seasoned veteran to these races, she was relentless from the start.

Her main competition was from Elsie Wilbanks, but Sanders proved she was clearly the favorites. She crossed the line in a time of 20:02, improving upon her runner-up finish the 2021 MHSAA 4A State Championship and added another MHSAA 4A state title to her name, making it five in total.

After the race, Hannah Sanders reflected on her race and high school career saying, "Going into it, I didn't know if I would be first or second. I knew it would be a mental game, and I really tried to push past that. Otherwise, I felt strong and was glad to finish. It was a great feeling crossing the finish line knowing that this was it, and coming in first was very rewarding after pushing myself the past four years."
