It was just another day in the office for St. Patrick High School, a prominent small school program located in Biloxi, Miss.

Winning is something not uncommon to them - In the last five years, the Fighting Irish have taken four of the state titles in High School Boys competition, as well as four in High School Girls competition.

They added to that number at the 2022 MHSAA 3A Cross Country Championships, as they swept both titles in MHSAA 3A, winning by nine points on the girl's side, and 64 points on the boy's side.

In scorching temperatures, the Lady Fighting Irish outlasted defending champions St. Andrew's HS, 41-50. They were led by freshman Jayden Ware who placed third overall, and had the lowest 1-5 split in the whole field of 2:12.

Emily Ireland reclaimed her throne atop MHSAA 3A, winning the race by a full 77 seconds. After holding back in the first mile and letting some of her competitors set the pace up front, Ireland made her move directly after the first mile and never looked back.

This was Ireland's eighth class title to add to her resume, and was perhaps her most impressive performance of the 2022 season after battling both injury and the flu for most of her 2022 Cross Country campaign.

It should also be noted that Alcorn Central senior Noel Selph had a surprise runner-up finish, 12 spots ahead of where she finished at the 2021 MHSAA 3A Cross Country Championships
