Meridian's Jada Portis held off Starkville's Diamond Brooks, the 2021 MHSAA 6A Runner-up in the Long Jump, for a new, All-conditions 100m PR of 12.49w at the 2022 Starkville High Season Opener. That mark of 12.49w is currently the #3 time in the state and #1 in MHSAA 6A South State.
Hitting a PR this early in the season is a great start to your outdoor season, and Portis is in a good spot to book another ticket to the MHSAA 6A State Championships.
