This Saturday at the Eastbay South Regional in Charlotte, North Carolina, Neshoba Central's Thomas Saunders is putting the state of Mississippi on his back as he is the lone competitor from Mississippi.
Saunders is no stranger to post-season races. Back in June, he competed in the 2021 RunningLane Track Championships, where he went 4:38 for the full mile (4:37 1600m), as well as 10:27 in the 3200m, both PR's. He has only run about half of the races with his team this year as he is coming back from a little bit of injury, but has been getting better and better each race and looks ready to roll!
Saunders is also entered into the Garmin RunningLane Championships next weekend in Huntsville, Alabama, so he is clearly doing a great job at gaining experience from the out-of-state, national-caliber cross country meets and putting himself out there.
