Weekend Preview: Fast Courses and Showdown at NW Rankin

Up next, we have another fast course, this time the French Camp Invitational. The #1 seed by far in this one is Clinton High School's Christian Parks. This is only Park's 2nd race this year after his 16:41 at the Ole Brook Invitational, coming in behind the Brookhaven trio in 4th. This was a huge run for Parks, and it will be interesting to see what else he has up his sleeve tomorrow morning.

On the girl's side, the heavy favorite is All-State #7 Mia Dawson. Dawson opened up her season last Thursday with a strong run and finishing 2nd to Gann, and beating notables like Sanders and Card. Dawson has the fastest PR by almost a minute, and will be looking for her first sub-20 of the season tomorrow morning.

An interesting entry in this field though, is MHSAA 1A 400m and 800m State Champion Taylor Benoit. Benoit will be opening up her season, and her cross country career, on her home course tomorrow. I'm really not too sure what Benoit will run, but she is on her home course, and could potentially be an interesting matchup between her and Dawson.
