Madison Ridgeland Academy's Kennedi Sanders has accomplished many outstanding feats this track season, and she now adds yet one more elite award to her resume, as she was selected the 2020-2021 Gatorade Mississippi Girls Player of the Year for the sport of track and field!
From running top times in the nation, edging closer and closer to Bianca Knight's State Records, to winning 6 state titles in one day, Sanders has seemingly done it all this year... and yet yesterday, she showed us that she is not done quite yet.
Because yesterday at the Brooks PR Invitational, Kennedi Sanders became the newest state record holder in the 400m dash, running a blistering time of 52.62, and taking the Win in the process. No female high schooler has ever run faster in Mississippi history.
Sanders hasn't lost a 400 meter race this outdoor season, and is showing no signs of changing that fact any time soon. We're not sure what Sanders has on her schedule for later this summer, but as I have said time and time again, expect an absolute ripper out of her the next time she steps on the track.
