The top two teams are very class to start the season with only four points separating them. Before the gap was quite a bit larger and that was because when Everett Heard, Madison Ridgeland ran at Footlocker South she became unattached and it took some help from our Stats Geek editors who found the problem. So now Jackson Preparatory is only the aforementioned four points ahead of Madison Ridgeland.
The only thing I am surprised is that there is only one girl under the 20-minute barrier from last year's times. Julia Stradinger, Jackson Preparatory leads Class 5A with her 19:33.09. It will be great to see the top runners get together and race this year.
