I have an apology to make when I posted the girls overall records yesterday I left out Asia Poe, Madison Central in the triple jump. She tied the record in 2017 with her jump of 40'4.5". I will go to the article from yesterday and correct the problem.
There may be some confusion on the records where a school is in a different class than what they were back when the record was set. If the school was in Class 6A when the record was set then it is the Class Record. It does not matter where the school is today. When we moved to six classes the 4A and 5A records move up and the new 4A records were set that year. Confusing yes but that is the way is worked.
It is interesting to see that nobody in Class 6A girls holds multiple records. The oldest records on the books is the 800 meters, Lee Ann Vanlandingham, Gulfport High 2:10.84 and the long jump, Kimberly Jones, Southaven High 20'10" from 1981
