Describe why you choose College and what you liked on your visit to the college.
By going to college, I am able to further my education as well as pursue my dream of serving my country as an Army officer. I am also able to gain the experience of running competitively at a whole new level. When visiting Mississippi College, I really liked the aspect of the Cross Country team being connected and striving to work together to accomplish their goals. The campus also appealed to me as I could see the school had a very community based campus, which appealed to my mind set towards what environment I could see myself being apart of.
What are you most looking forward to about your future career as an athlete at College?
I am most looking forward to not only improve upon my running, but develop a friendship with the team and strive to push one another to achieve the best of our abilities.
What events do you think they'll have you run in track as a freshman?
For XC I know I will be running the 8k/10ks, however for track I believe I would be put into the 1500, mile, or 3000. That will depend all on what the coaches believe I would perform best in during that time.
What motivates you to run?
The feeling of freedom and just the relaxation from running is what motivates me to run. I've always felt that through running i'm able to feel at ease and relaxed; as if my problems are put aside for that time and I can just focus on looking forward without any worries.
What do you think about when you're running?
Thatusually depends on what isoccurring that week or ifi'm focused on a specific thought during that time. Usually I try to push my thoughts out on look around me; watch the sun in the distance--hear the cows in a neighboring pasture--the birds chirping and fluttering around. Sometimes I just wont think and use these sights and sounds around me to put me at ease; see the wonders of the world around me.
