I'm back after a week off of blogging, and a week off of racing! The last meet my team was at was the Saltillo Invitational, and what a race it was! There was a great amount of competition to push us to run hard. It also was the hottest race we've had all year. We have been blessed to have some "perfect" running weather on the days of our other races. In Water Valley action, Lillian Lindsey and myself were top finishers. Lillian came in 16th in the 1-3A girls race running a 23:26. I came in 11th in the 1-3A boys race and ran a 18:55. The rest of our team also had solid performances. Saltillo is always one of our favorite races, and I know that I look forward to it each year.
While our team took a week off last week, the runners at the Southerntees Challenge definitely did not. There were many great performances! Also shout-out to one of my friends, Dylan Allen, for taking home yet another victory and running an outstanding time of 16:25. I wish I could've been there to run alongside y'all at that race! Congratulations to all of the hard work.
This weekend, Water Valley will be heading to the TCPS Invitational. This meet always brings back good memories because this course was the first place our team ever raced at my 7th grade year. I'm looking forward to it, and running one of my favorite hills, "Big Bertha." Good luck to you, wherever you may be racing this week. Set your goals high, and then achieve them. You can do it.
See you on the course,
