2019 MHSAA Middle School Cross Country Classic
DUE TO THE FORECAST OF INCLEMENT WEATHER ON MONDAY THE MHSAA MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSIC WILL BE MOVED TO WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 23!!! THE SAME SCHEDULE WILL BE FOLLOWED WITH THE FIRST RACE TO BEGIN AT 1:00 P.M.
MS.MILESPLIT WILL BE REOPENED FOR COACHES TO MAKE ANY CHANGES, ADDITIONS OR DELETIONS TO ENTRIES. ENTRIES WILL CLOSE ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 20 @ 12:00 NOON!!!
Meet Format: The Mississippi High School Activities Association will sponsor a Middle School Cross Country Classic during the upcoming 2019 season. This meet will be open to 7th & 8th grade student-athletes and all MHSAA middle schools. Plans are to have three divisions (small, medium & large) determined by the enrollment of each participating school. Schools that are planning to attend MUST download the MHSAA Classic Intent Form below and return to the MHSAA office by Wednesday, October 2! Meet divisions will be posted Monday, October 7 on http://ms.milesplit.com.

Eligibility: This meet is open to MHSAA 7th & 8th grade middle school athletes. ONLY athletes that have competed in middle school/junior high races are eligible. Any athlete that has run on a Varsity Squad during the 2019 season is NOT Eligible for this meet!
Meet Date: Monday, October 23 (CHANGE!!!)
Location: Choctaw Trails, Jackson, MS
Race Distance: 2 Miles

1:00 p.m. Small School Girls
1:35 p.m. Small School Boys
2:15 p.m. Small School Awards
2:10 p.m. Medium School Girls
2:45 p.m. Medium School Boys
3:25 p.m. Medium School Awards
3:20 p.m. Large School Girls
3:55 p.m. Large School Boys
4:35 p.m. Large School Awards
Entries: Ten entries per school with only the top seven counting for scoring purposes. (Note: The number of entries may increase after all schools have entered!) Entries will be done online @ http://ms.milesplit.com. Meet name: MHSAA Middle School Cross Country Classic
Team Entry Note: Schools must enter as a middle school, entries will not be accepted as a high school!!! If your middle school is not listed on MileSplit, contact James Mathews at 601-917-2177.
Entry Deadline: Entries will close at midnight, Wednesday, October 16!!!
Entry Fee: $15.00 per athlete with a maximum of $100.00 per team (boys and girls are separate)!
Make Checks Payable to: MHSAA - DO NOT MAIL ENTRY FEES, BRING TO THE MEET!
Awards: Medals to Top 20 Individuals in each race
Classic Championship Team Trophy to winning teams in each race
Parking Fee: $10.00 per vehicle, MHSAA State Passes accepted!
