Meet Information

The 11th annual Bearcat Track & Field Classic is scheduled for Thursday; 03/08/2018. The meet will be held at the Bearcat Track & Field Complex located at Lumpkin-Magee Stadium adjacent to Long Beach High School / 300 East Old Pass Road Long Beach, MS 39560. We plan to conduct a coaches meeting at 3:45 p.m. and the beginning of the meet will follow with the running of the girls 3200 meter relay around 4:00 p.m. The boys 3200 meter relay will follow the girls. The 3200 meter runs will follow the completion of the 3200 meter relays. All other running events will not begin until the approximate conclusion of the field events. The field events are set to begin at about 4:00 p.m. There will be a $75 per team entry fee for the meet. If entering both a boys & a girls team: the entry fee will be $150. Checks should be made payable to Long Beach Athletics. Entry fees should be brought to the meet & presented to the entry fee clerk at the meet headquarters located adjacent to the track start/finish line. Each team will be required to weigh-in their throwing implements. This may be done at the meet headquarters. Team champion & team runner-up trophies will be given in both the boys and girls divisions. We will be using the milesplit web-site to enter the meet this year. On-line registration for entering the meet on the milesplit website will open on February 1, 2018 and will close at 7:00p.m. on Tuesday March 6, 2018. No entries will be accepted after the deadline. (Two entrants per school per individual event will be allowed) You should enter two entrants names and their projected time/distance/height in each individual event on the web-site. You may only enter one girls relay team & only one boys relay team per relay event on the web-site with their projected time. Points will be awarded during the meet as follows: 1st-10pts./2nd-8pts./3rd-6pts./4th-5pts./5th-4pts./6th-3pts./7th-2pts./8th-1pt. FinishLynx Timing System and Meet Manager will be used in determining finish line results and scoring of the meet. Meet results will be posted on-line following the conclusion of the meet on the milesplit web-site. Make sure that your athletes use spikes no larger than 1/4th" Warm-up for events will be allowed inside the ropes on the infield. Track athletes must report to the clerk-of-course on the 1st call for their individual running events or relays. Filed event athletes must report to their field event area on the 1st call for those events. Three attempts will be allowed in all field events. All participating teams will be expected to provide field event workers for one field event. Schools must bring enough workers to take care of all the duties involved in the field event that is assigned to your school. A list of meet worker assignments for each team will be provided at the coaches meeting on the day of the meet.
