TCPS Invitational
Saturday afternoon August 25
Tupelo Christian Preparatory School
Belden, MS
A limited number of teams will be invited in order to keep the meet manageable and due to parking constraints.
One varsity girls race and one varsity boys race, all classes run together. We will also have junior varsity races for girls and boys. Four races total.
Junior varsity distance will be 1.83 miles for both boys and girls. Junior varsity will be 7th through 9th grade and any runners who will not run a 12 minute per mile pace. Any 7th through 9th graders can run varsity if you choose. No sixth graders in any race.
Online registration at ms.milesplit.com. We will issue bibs for all runners and pull tabs at the finish line. Please enter any and all who might run. No results available on site but will be e mailed on Sunday and posted on milesplit.
No team scoring or team awards or awards ceremony. T shirts will be given in the chute to top finishers. Top 50 in each varsity race will receive t shirts. Top 25 in each junior varsity race will receive t shirts.
Entry fee $75 per school max, $10 per runner if less than 8 runners. $5 per car parking fee.
Race schedule will be as follows:
National anthem 4:00 pm
Junior varsity BOYS 4:15 pm
Junior varsity GIRLS 4:45 pm
Varsity BOYS introductions 5:15 pm
Varsity BOYS start 5K 5:30 pm
Varsity GIRLS introductions 6:15 pm
Varsity GIRLS start 4K 6:30 pm
We will make the meet unique by having team introductions before the varsity races. We will group up the teams under the home football bleachers and will call each runners name and they will jog out in front of the bleachers and group up with their team until all are announced. We will also announce any team history you provide as well. Once all teams are announced, we will walk to the start line for the start. We will provide a roster sheet for you to list your runners and any comments about them and the team.
Course is TCPS Cross Country trail on the north side of campus. All dirt and grass. Address is 5440 Endville Road, Belden, MS.
