Who do you think is the top returning girls distance runner for 2019? Some great statistics here about a number of girls who ran all three individual distance events in 2018. It brings to question are we running our top distance runners too hard? Especially in girls cases do we run our young runners to hard? Coaches are always looking for a way to score the most points and win meets. In search of those points do we push our athletes too run too many races? There is no correct answer here just a point of discussion. How about you college coaches will you recruit a distance runner based on an individual time at one distance or will you pass over that event specialist for an athlete running all three events?
