Sprints
In the sprints, Clinton's Ayden Johnson put together one of the most dominant performances of the meet, sweeping the 100m and 200m in 11.17 and 22.66.
Clinton continued its strong showing in the short sprints with seventh grader Zandon Perkins, who placed 2nd in the 200m, while Gautier's Treyvun Tart consistently found himself near the top of both races.
In the 400m, Munachiso Agbahiwe made it another win for Clinton, taking the title in 53.18 and leading a strong overall performance from the program.
On the girls' side, the sprints were headlined by a tight battle between Paris Fortenberry and Khloe Smith in the 100m, with Fortenberry coming away with the win in 12.61.
Ah'Leah Green responded in the 200m, winning in 26.24 and later doubling back for a runner-up finish in the 400m. Clinton's Lauren Banks took control of that race, winning the 400m in 1:01.77 to cap off a strong day for the program.
Distance
In the distance events, Tupelo's Corbyn Bowles came away with the 800m title in 2:13.46 after holding off a tight pack down the stretch.
From there, it was all Warren Gardner of Desoto Central. He dominated both the 1600m and 3200m, winning in 4:59.82 and 10:33.18, separating himself as one of the top distance runners in the field. Ocean Springs' Liam Daley also stood out, finishing runner-up in both events and helping push the pace.
On the girls' side, Vivian Harley of Northwest Rankin controlled the middle-distance events, winning both the 800m (2:29.28) and 1600m (5:44.94).
In the 3200m, Madison's Elena Lusk delivered a dominant performance of her own, winning by a large margin in 12:12.55 to close out the distance races.
Hurdles
In the hurdles, a few athletes separated themselves from the field with standout performances.
On the boys' side, Ocean Springs' Trent Peterson took the 100m hurdles in 14.40, while Madison's Jon Andrew Hammett dominated the 300m hurdles in 42.66, one of the stronger marks of the meet.
For the girls, Kourtney Papania of George County was one of the most impressive athletes of the day, sweeping both hurdle events with wins in the 100m (15.20) and 300m (48.48). Meridian's Imoni Landrum also stood out with runner-up finishes in both races.
Field Events
In the field events, Germantown's Langston Lyons delivered the most dominant performance of the meet, sweeping both throws with a 53-1.25 in the shot put and a massive 171-5 in the discus.
Gautier's Treyvun Tart added a field title to his sprint success, winning the long jump with a mark of 20-2.25. Meanwhile, Ocean Springs' Khalif Ragin impressed across multiple events, highlighted by a triple jump win at 42-7.25.
On the girls side, Petal's Kyndahl Baggies-Word claimed the long jump title, while Clinton's Erian Douglas led a strong showing in the triple jump with a winning mark of 35-1.50.
Relays
Clinton Junior High continued to show its depth in the relays, sweeping the boys 4x100m and 4x200m titles with times of 45.28 and 1:33.46.
Byram Middle School flipped the momentum in the 4x400m, taking the win in 3:47.43, while Armstrong Middle School closed out the boys relays with a narrow victory in the 4x800m.
On the girls side, Byram won the 4x100m, and Desoto Central claimed the 4x200m title. Clinton responded with a win in the 4x400m, while Madison edged Northwest Rankin in a close 4x800m finish to end the meet.
