Dayquan Warfield (Vicksburg) ran 47.10 in the boys' 400 meters at MHSAA Region 2-5A on April 17, improving from his previous best of 53.16. The mark ranks #1 in Mississippi and sets a school record for Vicksburg High School. Warfield won the race among 13 competitors.
Amiya Dunbar (Cleveland Central) clocked 12.03 in the girls' 100 meters at MHSAA Region 2-5A on April 17, dropping from her previous PR of 12.61 set in March 2026. The time places her #4 in the state and #1 among sophomores, while setting a Cleveland Central school record. Dunbar also ran 26.14 in the 200 meters, improving from 26.96.
Daniel McGhee (Heidelberg) jumped 23-11 in the boys' long jump at MHSAA Region 3-6A/Super Region 3-2A on April 17, bettering his previous mark of 22-2. The jump ranks #3 in Mississippi and establishes a Heidelberg High School record. McGhee won the event with 18 competitors.
